United had some efforts on goal in the second half, with Lukaku having a shot saved. United hardly looked threatened for the majority of the game, although Oriol Romeu had a header which beat De Gea, but not Marouane Fellaini who was well-placed on the line.
Romeu had another chance, as he shot narrowly wide from a tight angle. United had another chance to clinch the game, with substitute Ander Herrera firing over from a very good position, after being set up by Lukaku.
United did hold on, as they ended the game with six defenders, with Chris Snalling and Daley Blind coming off. United have only conceded two goals in six league games this season.
It was a bizarre end to the match, with Jose Mourinho being sent to the stand. He said that he didn’t know why he had been sent to the stands.
