QPR came behind to beat Cardiff and former manager Neil Warnock, with substitute Yeni Ngbakoto scoring one goal and created another.

There weren’t many chances in the first half. QPR came really close to scoring, but Connor Washington hit the post from outside the box. Cardiff went ahead just before half time through Sol Bamba. He headed in from a Craig Noone to put the Bluebirds ahead going into the interval.

Cardiff nearly went 2-0 up in the second half, but Joel Lynch cleared Kenneth Zohore’s effort off the line. But when Ngbakoto came on In the 62nd minute, the game changed. After a fine team move and Jamie Mackie mad a final pass, Ngbakoto slotted home to equalise.

Then from his corner, Matt Smith headed in the winner in the 83rd minute. QPR marked the 50th anniversary since their League Cup victory with a win. It was QPR’s third win in four games and Cardiff’s first loss in five games after an improvement in form. 

Cardiff remain in 12th place, three points ahead of QPR. Next up is a trip to Blackburn on Tuesday, the 7 March.
