Man United got back to winning ways with a 1-0 win over Tottenham through a Henrick Mkhitaryan goal.
Paul Pogba had an early shot saved by Hugo Lloris after some good link-up play. After that, in the 29th minute, Ander Herrera dispossessed Harry Kane before playing Mkhitaryan through. He hammered it into the roof of the bar to put United in front. Herrera put in another really good performance with his beat passing and break-up play.
Victor Wanyama should’ve levelled the game but, missed a header from six yards out. Tottenham controlled the possession, but failed to threaten that much and created very few chances. United were the more dangerous throughout. Pogba nearly made it more comfortable, but curled a free-kick against the post. The game ended in disappointment for Mkhitaryan, as he had to be taken off on a stretcher with an ankle injury. He will be out until Boxing Day.
United are still six points behind fourth-placed Man City, but performances are improving and hopefully results. They are also only three points of Tottenham now. They ended a run of three games without a win in the league with this win.
Next up for United is Crystal Palace away on Wednesday, the 14th of December. They will be hoping to carry on their winning form.
