Man United were held to a 1-1 draw at home to West Ham as Mourinho was sent off for the second time in a month.

West Ham took The lead in the 2nd minute through a Diafra Sakho header from Dimitri Payet’s free-kick. Zlatan Ibrahimovic was partly at fault for the goal, but he made amends through heading in from Paul Pogba’s dinked delivery on the 21st minute. United dominated for the rest of the half but, they couldn’t beat Darren Randolph in the West Ham goal.

The drama came after both those goals. Mourinho kicked a water bottle reacting to referee Jon Moss giving Paul Pogba a yellow card for diving. Replays showed Mark Noble did not make contact with Pogba. This was the second time Mourinho had been sent off in a month, after being sent off in the 0-0 draw against Burnley.

Once again it was a goalkeeper who made countless saves to keep their team in thw game and deny United victory. This time it was an inspired Randolph who brilliantly denied the hosts several times. He twice blocked from Ibrahimovic and made instinctive saves to deny Marcus Rashford and Lingard. He also pushed a Henrick Mkhitaryan shot on to the post. The follow-up was tapped in by Lingard but, he was correctly ruled out for offside.

Next up for United is a repeat of this match in the Capital One Cup. They will be hoping to go one further than this match and beat them. Next in the league are Everton and they will be hoping to get back to winning ways in the league.
